MAKING PROGRESS ON THE LINFIELD BRIDGE – Reconstruction of the formerly antiquated Linfield Bridge is making good progress, the Transportation Management Association of Chester County reported Monday (Sept. 28, 2015) on its Facebook page. Work crews (at top) are preparing the foundation for the bridge’s new deck, and (above) are repairing, cleaning and repainting the structural steel of the span that takes traffic over the Schuylkill River between Limerick and East Coventry townships. Contractors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation began the $4.6 million project during May, and are expected to finish on time by Nov. 30. The bridge is closed while the work continues, and traffic is being detoured.
