Members of Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) student-operated Internet radio station, Montco Radio
BLUE BELL PA – Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) student-operated Internet radio station, Montco Radio, will host its first alumni broadcast April 16 (2016; Saturday) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will feature radio station alumni from the 1980s through today. The live shows are being produced from a studio in the Advanced Technology Center at the college central campus.
Community residents can hear the broadcasts at the MontcoRadio website, here.
Montco Radio, once named WRFM (Radio Free Montco), began in the early 1970s as a record-spinning club. Over the years, the club evolved and began to operate as a radio station, with music and content broadcast into the College Hall cafeteria. During 2003, Montco Radio gained an international audience when it began broadcasting over the Internet.
For many returning alumni, the April 16 broadcast will be the first time they see the station’s new home: a state-of-the-art broadcast studio that rivals those found in the industry.
