Cadets Learn Fire Safety At Limerick Camp

ENCOURAGING VOLUNTEERISM AND SAFETY – Members of the Limerick Fire Company (above) have spent this week (June 20-24, 2016) conducting their annual, week-long Youth Firefighter Camp. The camp teaches young cadets the basics of fighting fires, encourages fire safety, lets them handle and become comfortable with equipment, and promotes community volunteerism. Limerick instructors have taught about the use of rescue gear, portable pond use, master stream hose operations, ropes and knots, and ground ladder set-ups (below), and more. During Thursday’s (June 23) exercises, Sanatoga Fire Company volunteers assisted with instructions on supply lines and hydrant connections. The smiling students are enjoying themselves and are quick learners, according to the Limerick company’s website.
