LIMERICK PA – Two new Limerick Police Department officers have been introduced to the township Board of Supervisors and the public during the board’s recent meeting. The new hires are Ofc. Pat Murphy and Ofc. Shane Ondarza, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Murphy is a graduate of the Montgomery County Police Academy, and comes to Limerick with 10 years of police experience, the department reported. He “brings with him an impressive amount of training from multiple disciplines within police work,” it said.
Ondarza is a bachelor of science graduate of Temple University who “completed his college education with excellent marks,” the department noted. He “continued on to the Temple University Police Academy, where he later graduated near the top of his class,” it added.
Also during the meeting, Police Chief Brian Skelton congratulated department Sgt. Bob Matalavage and Sgt. Matt Daywalt for their completions of the Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute. All were conducted by the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
