DOWN WITH THE OLD, UP WITH THE NEW – Contractors have been busy daily at 390 West Ridge Pike in Limerick, erecting a new and more spacious Limerick Fire Company fire house where its predecessor once stood. A ground-breaking for the project was held during October (2016), and the old fire house was demolished over a week-long period in December. That cleared the way for the current progress on the two-story, 20,000-square-foot structure with five drive-through garages. Until the new building is ready, the fire company is operating out of two temporary locations: behind the township Public Works building, and from a building located at the former Teleflex property on Lewis Road.
