POTTSTOWN PA – Police officers from departments in Limerick, Royersford, and Upper Providence; Lower, Upper, and West Pottsgrove; and New Hanover and Douglass (Montgomery) townships are among those who will participate in drunk driving enforcement exercises coordinated by Pottstown police during the coming week, according to a press release Thursday (Feb. 9, 2017) from the borough.
Police said they hoped to deter potential drunk drivers and reduce the number of accidents attributed to driving under the influence. Their multi-jurisdictional effort is scheduled to include at least one sobriety checkpoint, the release stated.
They reminded the public to designate a driver before drinking.
Team DUI, as the joint operation is known, intends to enforce all liquor law violations, including underage consumption and the purchase of alcohol by minors. For more information, call Pottstown Police Capt. Robert Thomas, 610-970-6570.
