LIMERICK PA – To recognize April as “Autism Awareness Month,” the A-Team of Spring-Ford will hold its fifth annual Autism Family Fun Day and Resource Fair on Saturday (April 8, 2017) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Spring Valley YMCA, 19 W. Linfield-Trappe Rd. The event, which open to the public, features games and activities, food, a basket raffle and bake sale, and more than 50 vendors for families with children on the autism spectrum.
Medical and other assistance for autism, a developmental disorder that is said to affect one in 68 children, and one in 42 boys, costs a family an average of $60,000 a year, according to the Autism Speaks advocacy organization. The A Team is a Spring-Ford area autism support network that provides families of children with autism a forum to ask and answer questions and to interact with each other.
