Western Center seniors (at top) on their way to graduation Wednesday night
UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – Members of senior classes at Spring-Ford Area, Pottsgrove, and Upper Perkiomen high schools, who attended the Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center during the academic year, were honored Wednesday (May 24, 2017) night during its senior awards and recognition ceremony at Pottsgrove Middle School.
Proud graduates, family members and friends nearly filled the middle school auditorium. Applause and cheers rang out as diplomas and certifications were distributed, and several seniors received special honors. Center Administrative Director Chris Moritzen talked about some of their accomplishments during the year, as well as the school’s records in surpassing trade industry educational standards.

Limerick Township Police Det. Ernie Morris, a Spring-Ford graduate and 1994 alumnus of the center’s drafting and architecture program, reminded students everything they learned at the center would prove valuable, even if it didn’t lead them into the job choices they initially envisioned. Morris ultimately pursued a career in law enforcement, but credited center instructors for encouraging him to take risks and follow his dreams.
