PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANT – Former Limerick Police Sgt. Robert “Bob” Matalavage, at right, this week was promoted by the Limerick Board of Supervisors to the rank of lieutenant in the township police department. Police Chief Brian Skelton, left, said the promotion followed “a testing process that included a competitive oral interview, and an “in-basket exercise” of scenarios faced in the day-to-day operations of a police department.” Matalavage also this week observes his 30th year of service in the department, according to the department’s Facebook page. He is certified by the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development program, and received its Trilogy Award for successful completion of its top three training courses. He also has received “several K-9, life saving and high profile arrest commendations,” the department said.
