KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Lane closures with traffic stoppages are scheduled next week on east- and westbound U.S. 422, between U.S. 202 and Route 363, for bridge demolition and construction. The work is part of a major project to build new, wider bridges that carry 422 drivers over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The work schedule is:
- Sunday (Oct. 8, 2017) through Friday (Oct. 13), from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, lane closures with periodic 15-minute traffic stoppages are scheduled on eastbound 422 between Route 363 and U.S. 202; and
- Sunday (Oct. 8) through Friday (Oct. 13) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, lane closures with periodic 15-minute traffic stoppages are scheduled on westbound 422 between U.S. 202 and Route 363.
Drivers should allow additional time for travel in the construction zones. Backups will occur, PennDOT warned. Work schedules depend on the weather.
