ROYERSFORD PA – Car hits mailbox. Mailbox hits back. That’s the short story behind an investigation reported Friday (Dec. 22, 2017) by the Upper Providence Police Department.
Department officers were called earlier this week to the 700 block of Second Avenue to examine property damage at a residence there. Police said they determined a maroon- or burgundy-colored Hyundai Santa Fe sports utility vehicle left the roadway and struck a mailbox outside the home. The box was severely damaged.
But police note the Hyundai may look even worse. “Based on evidence at the scene, the vehicle would more than likely have considerable damage to the front end and possibly the front wheels or wheel wells,” they said on the department’s Facebook page.
The department is hoping for public help in finding the vehicle or its owner so it can close the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Ofc. William Parkins at 610-933-7899, or send him an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
