KING OF PRUSSIA PA – A periodic right-lane closure with potentially substantial delays is scheduled for Jan. 11 (2018; Thursday) from 9 p.m. to Jan. 12 (Friday) at 6 a.m. on westbound U.S. 422, between the Route 23 and Route 363 interchanges, for a sign structure installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
The left lane of the ramp from westbound U.S. 422 to Route 363 also will close during the same period, it added.
The installation is part of the major project to build new, wider bridges to improve travel and carry U.S. 422 motorists over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail. Construction began in February 2016 and is scheduled to finish in May 2020.
Drivers should allow additional time for travel in the construction zones, PennDOT urged. Backups and delays will occur. The schedule of its contractor, J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen PA, depends on the weather.
