ROYERSFORD PA – Continued high, chilling winds of up to 40 miles an hour are expected to keep snow blowing and drifting until Saturday (Jan. 6, 2018), the Royersford Police Department advised Facebook readers. The weather will create “areas of poor visibilities and slick roadways,” and “difficult travel conditions at times,” the department said, but added it also endangers pedestrians.
Impassable sidewalks can occasionally be a problem in the borough and elsewhere. They could cause some walkers to slip and fall if not properly cleared. They could cause others to walk in the streets, risking exposure to traffic. So before even colder weather kicks in, the department urged, property owners should “get out there” and clean their sidewalks.
On that topic, borough law apparently is specific. “Please remember sidewalks need to have a 30-inch-wide path cleared within 24 hours of the snow ending,” the department said.
